On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. He was accompanied by prominent leaders, officials, and a congregation of worshippers. After the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed took the opportunity to exchange Eid greetings, celebrating the onset of this significant religious festival.
The Eid sermon, delivered by Dr. Omar Al Darei, who chairs the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, highlighted the crucial role of honesty in fostering trust, national unity, and societal stability. Dr. Al Darei also commended the UAE leadership for its efforts in bolstering the nation through a commitment to unity and prioritizing national interests. The UAE President was joined by senior leaders such as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed during the event.
As part of the religious observance, Sheikh Mohamed, along with other worshippers, recited Al Fatiha in remembrance of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The commemoration was echoed across the Emirates, with rulers and senior leaders participating in Eid prayers at various key mosques to join citizens and residents in the celebrations.
The nationwide observance saw Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed perform prayers at Zabeel Grand Mosque in Dubai, while Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi attended the Sharjah Mosque. In Ajman, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi was present at Al Zaher Palace Mosque. Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi conducted prayers at Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah.
In other Emirates, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered prayers at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined the congregation at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. These prayer gatherings signaled the beginning of Eid Al Adha festivities throughout the UAE, drawing thousands to mosques nationwide to partake in the celebrations.
