The United Arab Emirates is experiencing a bout of extreme weather conditions, with temperatures forecasted to soar as high as 46°C in some inland areas on Saturday. This increase in temperature is accompanied by high humidity levels, which could lead to fog or mist forming overnight and into the early morning, particularly along the coast and in inland regions.
Throughout the country, weather is anticipated to remain generally fair to partly cloudy. Inland temperatures are expected to range from 41°C to 46°C, while coastal areas and islands may experience temperatures between 36°C and 41°C. In the mountainous regions, temperatures are predicted to be cooler, fluctuating between 29°C and 35°C.
Humidity levels could peak at 95% in certain areas, significantly increasing the chances of reduced visibility due to fog or mist from late Saturday through Sunday morning. This weather pattern is expected to persist into the following week, with eastern parts of the UAE potentially seeing an increase in cloud development starting Monday afternoon, which could lead to the formation of convective clouds.
The conditions conducive to fog or mist are likely to recur during the overnight and early morning hours through Wednesday and Thursday. Winds may pick up occasionally, reaching speeds of around 35 km/h. Meanwhile, sea conditions are projected to remain mostly slight, although the Sea of Oman might experience periods of moderate to rough conditions.
