During his visit, Sheikh Mohamed will engage in talks with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The diplomatic ties between the UAE and Germany have flourished over more than five decades, with a significant boost since the establishment of their strategic partnership in 2004. In recent years, bilateral trade has surged, reaching over $15.5 billion in 2025. The UAE has become a significant hub for German businesses, with approximately 2,000 companies operating within its borders. A key area of collaboration is energy, where high-level meetings in Abu Dhabi earlier this year paved the way for further strengthening of their strategic energy partnership.
Economic interactions have been on the rise, driven by increased involvement from the private sector and initiatives that facilitate trade and investment between the two nations’ businesses. Beyond economics, the UAE and Germany have also cultivated partnerships in education, vocational training, culture, and tourism. German educational institutions and cultural organizations have established a presence in the UAE, contributing to skill development and professional exchange through new vocational programs.
Sheikh Mohamed’s visit to Germany is anticipated to further expand cooperation in these domains, thereby reinforcing the broader strategic alliance between the two countries.
