ESET and EVC Group have embarked on a strategic alliance to bolster Europe’s cyber and energy resilience by advancing battery energy storage systems. Their joint effort aims to develop CyberSec BESS, a new line of cyber-secure battery storage solutions tailored for the European market. By aligning with current and upcoming European Union cybersecurity regulations, the project aims to support the long-term resilience of critical energy systems.
CyberSec BESS seeks to merge European cybersecurity expertise, system integration, and certification with global battery production capabilities. Martin Talian, Chief Corporate Solutions Officer at ESET, emphasized the necessity of integrating cybersecurity from the start of the battery storage development process, rather than as an afterthought. He highlighted the opportunity to leverage ESET’s experience in safeguarding critical infrastructure to create a more secure energy sector ready to face both existing and emerging cyber threats.
