Dubai’s ambitious infrastructure initiatives continue to reshape the city’s transportation landscape. As part of a substantial effort to enhance road connectivity and reduce traffic congestion, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has implemented significant traffic diversions around Al Safah and City Walk. This measure is tied to the ongoing development of Al Safa Street, designed to streamline access and maintain smooth traffic flow during construction.
The road diversions affect both sides of Al Satwa Street and Al Multaqa Street, a necessary step while development work progresses in the bustling City Walk area. These changes are integral to the broader Al Safa Street project, which aims to improve overall connectivity in the region.
In a parallel effort, Dubai is advancing a Dh2 billion infrastructure project known as the Latifa bint Hamdan corridor. This extensive development spans 12 kilometers and is set to enhance the link between key roads, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Al Meydan Street, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Emirates Road. The project is a part of Dubai’s strategy to accommodate increasing vehicle numbers and ease traffic challenges across the emirate.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2028, the corridor will feature seven bridges and eight tunnels, designed to manage the flow of more than 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions. This infrastructure upgrade is expected to significantly boost the city’s transport efficiency while supporting its growth as a global hub.
